Budget Compact “Console” Build (Part 1): Introduction

π€ Backstory#
2 weeks ago, I found a “good” deal on my local marketplace for a used Deskmeet. And being curious of the experience of Bazzite, I decided to build a mini console (Gabebox Clone) to be used and connected to TV.

Notes#
- Price are in IDR (Rupiah), conversion rate based on when this post is made
- Budget Total Rp. 6,335,128 / $ 380.26
- GPU limit is 200mm for this case. You can find list of possible GPUs here
Ryzen 5 3600would suffice with RX 6600. But, if you plan to upgrade to better GPU later, just get theRyzen 5 5600
π οΈ Building#
This part is very simple because there’s no cable management needed (no fan slots). To make things easier, go with this order (especially with 200mm GPU)
- CPU (don’t install the cooler yet)
- RAM
- NVME
- GPU
- CPU Cooler
- Plug PSU cables (CPU, Motherboard, GPU)
- Screw PSU
- Install the outer chasis (done)
Notes#
- Motherboard Connector is a bit tight with the RAM. You can try installing the RAM afterward, but I think both are equally hard
- Tried deshroud mod with 12mm standard fan, doesn’t fit. A slim fan would probably fit but won’t be much of an upgrade compared to the stock GPU fan
