Budget Compact “Console” Build (Part 2): Configuration

💿 Operating System Installation#
I decided to use Bazzite to replicate console-like behavior (Turn On Machine straight to Game Library). It was very easy to install, and everything (including upscaling) works out of the box.
🔧 GPU Tuning#
The performance on RX 6600 is a bit lacking, and it’s running pretty cool on stock (100W, Max Temp 60C ~ Hotspot 73C based on my testing). So, I decided to tune it a bit to get more juice out of it. Here is my final settings:
- Min. Freq: 2300, Max. Freq: 2750
- Undervolt: 1000mV (very lucky…), I think ~1080mV is the average
- VRAM: It shows artifacts when I tried to overclock it, so I left it at stock
- Power Limit: +20% (Running 120W, Max Temp 65C ~ Hotspot 83C, Open Air condition)
This increased furmark (1080p) score from 6204 to 7604 (22% performance uplift)

Hopefully this would be able to run modern AAA titles at 1080p upscaled to 4K 60fps comfortably
I tuned using Adrenalin (Windows), because I need to test the GPU (it’s used) for its stability and health. But on Bazzite, use LACT. This can be installed by going to Desktop Mode then installing LACT from Bazaar App
